Who am I ?

You can call me Waz. I share traditional teachings and practices of Hatha Yoga through the lens of Tantric philosophy. It is my vision to share the teachings of yoga with great respect for their traditional roots, they originate from Eastern philosophy, handed down by great sages and great teachers.

Everyone has a story about how and why they showed up to yoga. I am no different. I showed up broken, confused and angry. It was introduced to me as an invitation to look within and be with what I discovered. I’ve lived through what becomes possible when a man can truly step into his power. When he is willing to step into the fire and burn away ignorance - he becomes a steadfast for humanity. To get to that place takes courage, humility and commitment.

Although I have cultivated an understanding and deep transformation through my own lived experience, I could not have arrived without the guidance and support from my teachers. They held the door for me. Their guidance empowered me. It is my belief that we are all capable of remembering our true nature, just by stepping through the door and allowing the true essence of yoga to take up space we can embody what the world needs more of.

This is an ancient practice from a rich culture that of which I have no claim to. These are not my teachings. I offer my gratitude to those who have come before me. I offer my gratitude to my teachers Brooke Devi & Emma Maree.

I offer deep reverence to the Shankaracharya lineage of which my Vedic meditation practice has been handed down. I offer my gratitude to my teacher Emily Mills.

I believe everyone has the ability to achieve what they set their mind and energy toward, they just need some guidance to get going. If you resonate
with the above, let’s get to work.
